At Leave Me Alone Acres, our mission is to raise lambs with care for sale direct to the public as processed whole lambs. We are committed to sustainable farming practices that enrich the land and support local ecosystems.

Chris began raising sheep at age nine when he joined 4-H in 1968. What started as a single project grew into something much larger — working alongside his parents, the family herd eventually reached 125 ewes. Out of necessity, Chris learned to shear, a skill that served him well for many years, though those days are comfortably behind him now.
Chris and Rose married in 1983 and moved out of state, stepping away from livestock for a time. But the pull of the land never really left. In 2002 they found their place in northwest Wisconsin — seventeen acres that would become Leave Me Alone Acres. The pastures needed work, so together with Chris’s parents they salvaged the old page wire fence and posts and rebuilt it, giving those materials a second life on ground that would become their own.
The setup works well for what we do today. Without winter housing facilities, we bring in market lambs each spring, raise them with the same care and attention that Chris learned as a boy, and take them to a USDA-inspected butcher shop for processing. Customers can arrange delivery or pickup of the frozen meat.
Nearly 60 years after that first 4-H project, the sheep are still here. Some things are worth holding onto.
Our farm market offers a wide variety of fresh and delicious products, including seasonal produce, grass-fed beef, free-range chicken and eggs, and handmade baked goods. We also offer a selection of local artisanal products, such as honey, jams, and cheeses. Our market is open year-round, and we offer special events and seasonal activities for the whole family.
At Leave Me Alone Acres, we believe in supporting our local community. We work closely with other farmers and producers to promote local agriculture and sustainable farming practices. We offer educational tours and workshops for schools and community groups to teach people about the importance of farming and where their food comes from. We also donate a portion of our profits to local charities and organizations that support our community.
